Information on Vivo, Limpopo Province, South Africa

Vivo is a small village in the northern part of the Limpopo province. It is situated on the road between Musina and Polokwane. The main economic activities in the area are conservation and agriculture.

The town has  a small convenience store, post office and a filling station. For larger purchases residents would have to travel to one of the neighbouring towns. Vivo lies close to the highest peak in the Soutpansberg range. Actually the highest peak, known as Mount Letjume, in this extraordinary range of mountains, lies somewhere between Makhado and Vivo, just east of Vivo, but suffice to say, mountains serve as a major backdrop to the little town.

The area around Vivo is a nature lover’s dream. There are plenty of natural heritage sites, game farms and nature reserves, and the scenery is substantial whatever the activity, hiking, in the back of a landrover or self-guided walks.
