Southbroom is a small town located on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal.  It has a 4 kilometre sandy Indian Ocean beach frontage. It boasts two recognised swimming beaches and the coastal walk between them is truly spectacular thanks to the pristine condition of the primary dunes.

The beach at Southbroom is patrolled by lifeguards during school holidays and is protected by shark nets. Grassy banks amid green lush tropical vegetation adjoining the beach is equipped with braai facilities, a fantastic venue for an afternoon picnic or braai.

Adjoining the beach there is a lagoon, which offers safe bathing for children. The lagoon is also a favourite spot for sailing boats and small canoes. There are two tidal pools available for children.
