Sandhurst is a suburb of Sandton and is located in Johannesburg. It has some of the most expensive real estate in the country and is one of the wealthiest suburbs in South Africa. Featured frequently in the media for staggering home sale prices reaching over R60million.

Oxford Avenue is known for being the most exclusive street in Johannesberg. Probably one of the main factors about Sandhurst is not just the opulence, but the low density of the area. The vast grounds on which homes are set and few cluster developments means that the suburb of Sandhurst remains tranquil, quiet and leafy. Its treelined streets are devoid of traffic except during peak hour, despite its proximity to Sandton’s Central Business District.

Unsurprisingly, security is high with extensive security services and all entrances to the suburb are boomed. The properties are all behind six foot walls and higher, and the streets are heavily patrolled. In fact, Sandhurst is closed to public thoroughfare.
