Mookgopong, also known by its former name, Naboomspruit, is a town in the Limpopo province of South Africa. It was established in 1910 after tin was discovered here and later platinum. Naboomspruit is named after the profusion of naboom trees growing on the banks of a nearby stream.

Naboomspruit is in a malaria free area and has hot springs. Doorndraai Dam and the Nylvlei Nature Reserve along with private game reserves offer excellent opportunities for bird and game watching.
