Information on Lambert's Bay, Western Cape, South Africa

Lamberts Bay is a small fishing village in the Western Cape province of South Africa, part of the Cederberg Municipality. The coastal town has been proclaimed the diamond of the West Coast because of its lobsters, white beaches and wild life. Although primarily a fishing town it has become one of the main tourist attractions on the West Coast due to the moderate all year climate.

Lambert's Bay is located in the West Coast Region of the Western Cape. It is a popular destination for ecotourists and is famous for its crayfish. Popular activities include watersports, fishing, sand boarding, golf, quad bike tours and microlight flights. Many open air restaurant provide the perfect setting for enjoying the seafood the area has to offer.

The seaside village of Lambert's Bay is situated approximately two and a half hours drive from Cape Town. Interesting facts and salvaged items from the British warship, the HMS Sybille can be viewed at the Sandveld Museum and on the farm Steenboksfontein in Lambert's Bay. The area enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate with a generally mild but rainy winter. Summer is dry and sunny, with the extreme heat tempered by gentle sea breezes.
