Information on Groblersdal, Mpumalanga, South Africa

Groblersdal is a farming town situated north of the Loskop Dam in the Sekhukhune District of the Limpopo Province. It is South Africa's second largest irrigation settlement with the main crops being citrus fruit, cotton, tobacco, maize, table grapes, wheat, vegetables, peanuts,sunflower seeds, peaches and lucerne.

Groblersdal is well known for its rather colourful Ndebele culture who are recognised for their gorgeous bead work crafts and vibrant house painting. All these works are on display at various cultural villages in the region. The Boer War route throughout the region is ideal for history lovers. Groblersdal was laid out on the farm Klipbank taking advantage of the Loskop Dam, and named after the original owner WJ Grobler.
