Fresnaye is situated on the slopes of Lion's Head, Table Mountain, Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa. It is well known for its sea and mountain views, proximity to white sandy beaches and easy access to Cape Town’s city centre. Fresnaye is only five minutes from the attractions of Cape Town.

Fresnaye exists in a windless corner of the Cape, surrounded by the Cape Peninsula National Park and below the noon gun at Signal Hill. The sweeping views of Fresnaye allow the guest to step out of their room and into paradise. Most Fresnaye guesthouses and hotels offer balconies to make use of the views of the Atlantic Seaboard, Table Bay, and Robben Island.

Fresnaye is close to a number of walks and climbs in the surrounding Table Mountain, Devil's Peak, Lion's Head and Twelve Apostles ranges. The elegant neighbourhood is also within easy reach of Camps Bay, and Clifton's beaches - popular with surfers and sun seekers, although the cold Atlantic current can make swimming uncomfortable, but does not seem to hinder anyone's enjoyment
