Westville is a central suburb of Durban in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, which is situated 8 km inland from the Durban city centre. It now forms part of the eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality, which also includes Durban. The town was laid out on the farm Westville (named in honour of Martin West, the British lieutenant-governor of Natal) and formed in 1847.

Westville is a fast growing decentralised hub of Durban. Westville is well known as a green suburb and has well-regarded schools.
Westville is an established upmarket suburb, with the fourth most expensive average property prices in the province after Umhlanga, Durban North and the Berea.
Westville is home to the three shopping malls: The Pavilion, one of the largest shopping centres in South Africa; Westwood Mall, situated at the bottom end of Westville off the M13 freeway; and Westville Mall.
The suburb of Westville lies in the Durban West Tourism Route. Just a breath away from central Durban(5-10 min by car) the expansive evergreen Western Inland Route is enjoyed by tourists. Westville's central location makes it a practical and affordable accommodation option and hospitality node for commuters based in Durban. All KwaZulu's regional attractions, including The Drakensberg (Barrier of Spears) Battlefields Tours, Game Reserves and Zululand are within a 2-3 hour drive of Westville, and day trips are commonplace with visitors.
Westville is steeped in local history, having been founded in the mid 1800's by German Farmers, and a large Anglo-German Historical Route exists with numerous Churches, Museums and Gravesites depicting the early settlement struggles of the early Colonial Days. Westville is also central to several main townships, namely Cato Manor, Claremont and Chesterville, and their respective shebeen and tavern tours. Westville has several shopping centres, restaurants, tourist stores, gyms, public pools and entertainment halls as well as one of the best accommodation networks in the region.
