About Haga Haga, Eastern Cape, South Africa

The small seaside village of Haga Haga is located on the Eastern Cape Wild Coast of South Africa, 60 km east of East London. Farmers from the hinterland started the village in the early 1920s, when they acquired farms here for winter grazing. They would move their livestock and possessions by ox wagon down to the coast for 3 to 4 months each year. Haga Haga got its name from the Xhosa "Haka Haka", which means to "hook on", because to cross the beach they would have to hook one team of oxen to another

Haga Haga is a beach resort situated in the Wild Coast region of Eastern Cape, South Africa. It is located at the mouth of the Haga Haga River with various watersports available.

The village is nestled between the hills and the sea at the mouth of the Haga-Haga River, where one can sail or paddleski in the warm shallow waters, or go beachcombing in the craggy rock pools and spacious beaches, all set against the panoramic backdrop of rolling green hills. Swimming beaches include Pullens Bay, just 2km walk away and Bead Beach, named after the gemstones and pottery beads found in the sand.

Haga Haga is small and unspoilt by major developments, consisting of only about 70 houses, which makes it an ideal location for a quiet, peaceful holiday, in comfortable accommodation. It's the perfect place for you to build some special memories for yourself and your family.
