Botha's Hill is a small town outside Hillcrest in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. It is the gateway to the Valley of a Thousand Hills.

Botha's Hill in KwaZulu-Natal overlooks the valley of a thousand hills. Internationally aclaimed, the Valley of a Thousand Hills has become a must see by most tourist visiting our wonderfull province of Kwazulu Natal on the east coast of South Africa. Although Bothas Hill has its own village that caters mostly for the local inhabitants, it is also close to the hustle and bustle of thriving Hillcrest.

From the top of Botha’s Hill to the base of Cowies Hill, there is a drop of more than 500 metres in less than 22 kilometres. Botha’s Hill was named such after Cornelius Botha who opened a wayside inn known as Botha’s Halfway House for many a weary wagon driver who made his way into the hinterland from Durban. Today in much the same position is the former Rob Roy Hotel, now an old age home.
