Lanseria is situated towards the north west of the city of Johannesburg, South Africa. It is the location of the Lanseria Airport, which is one of the four airports in this city, and the busiest in Africa in terms of aircraft movement per day.

The Lanseria International Airport is a general Aviation airfield that first started to take shape in 1972. Despite bad weather conditions during the construction, and a shortage of steel for the hangers, the international airport was completed on schedule, and was officially opened to air traffic on 16 August 1974. On that day, a Learjet ZS-MTD became the first jet to land at Lanseria. Lanseria Airport is ideally situated for corporate jets traveling to Johannesburg or Pretoria. With the recent expansion of the Main Terminal building (completed in 2002) and the upgrade of all the runways and taxiways, Lanseria is more geared than ever before to meet and exceed, the high demands of international aviation.

Lanseria is close to the World Heritage Site of the Cradle of Humankind. Lanseria is also just 20 minutes from Sandton, next door to Midrand and Fourways and an easy trip to Pretoria. Croc City, the Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve and the Lion Park are all based within easy reach of Lanseria
